High Street heavyweight River Island has teamed up with contemporary menswear brand Tourne de Transmission for its next Design Forum which is designed to showcase emerging fashion talent.
The collaborative capsule collection will be formed of 14 key pieces including ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories. Each piece will be inspired by TDT’s Eastern-influence, with a strong focus on traditional Japanese design techniques and modern street style culture. Wide leg trousers, western shirts and patchwork denim jackets will all be available each in muted colour-ways - from nude to grey and accented with jet black and indigo - and will use lightweight materials such as linen, canvas and cotton.
“We worked closely with River Island’s design team; first of all understanding what it was that attracted them to our aesthetic and then researching concepts together. From there we were able deliver something new for the River Island man that not only stays true to the TDT brand, but appeals to [its] global audience,” said Graeme Gaughan, creative director and founder of the brand.
Originally founded in 2012 as an art and T-shirt brand, TDT has quickly gained traction and now produces contemporary menswear with an ongoing on-schedule slot at London Collections Men.
The collection will arrive in stores and online in January 2017 after the Tourne de Transmission London Collections Men designer showcase.
