Head to the UK’s largest urban beach for sun (hopefully), sea and sand
It might not be the Carribean but for staycation Londoners it may just be the next best thing. One thousand tonnes of sand has been laid at Stratford Waterfront transforming it into a man-made beach, complete with a paddling pool, funfair rides and a whole host of sporting events. A ready-made beach without the budget airline flights? We’re sold.
Whether you’re rekindling your youth (in your ‘oh so old’ twenties) and have got your bucket and spade at the ready, or looking for a peaceful retreat after work to sink some cocktails, BeachEast’s open deck bar Pub Tropicana and juice bar Coconut Joe’s have got you sorted.
There will be a range of live entertainment, themed events and competitions to really set that holiday vibe and there will be a jam packed programme of beach activities from volleyball, cricket, football, boccia alongside fitness classes for those who can’t spend their summer sitting still.
From the 23rd July until the 4th September 2016
